LIVE CARICATURES

Things can get unexpectedly silly during live caricature work. I know how to read a room, but if someone is offering me creative freedom in the drawing, I'm not going to pass up the opportunity. Caricatures drawn live thrive in spontaneity. They are fun, and fast. They seem to appear out of thin air, even to me. They miss the luxury of studio illustrated detail due to event time limitations, but they allow for other interesting twists that can only happen in the moment. I have a more detailed & narrative style in my live work. It's raw entertainment. Sheer fun. I think drawing at live events with people is where my funny bone gets the most exercise. You can see my love of gags, and comedy ooze in.

My very appreciated following at my Bristol Renaissance Faire summer booth get first place for the amount of artistic freedom I can exercise. They really give me the wings to stretch into a limitless place of funny and art. They also mean alot to me as the people that they are. If you could spend five minutes with the people who come back every year to spend time with me in the name of art, you would fall in love with every one of them just as I have. They hold a very very special place in my heart and I have grown as a cartoonist and person because of their support and open hearts.
